JSC enjoys fruitful engagement at SportAccord 2024

8-11 April 2024 - International Engagement and Information Department of the Japan High Performance Sports Centre (HPSC) at the Japan Sport Council (JSC) held an exhibition booth at the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit 2024, the world's largest international sports convention and exhibition, held in Birmingham, UK.

The SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit is an important annual meeting for the global sports community, bringing together decision-makers from international organisations both in and out of sport, service providers, cities/regions and media. This year marks the return of the Summit since the 2019 edition in Gold Coast, Australia, and the convention brought 1,700 participants from 65 different countries, serving as an important platform for facilitating connections between international sports stakeholders. The event attracted attention from around the world, and was filled with international sports leaders and influencers from various fields holding high level meetings, networking, and enjoying the exhibitions and conference programme.

This year, the conference included a wide range of high-calibre guest speakers and panel discussions on a variety of topics that influences the power of sport on a global scale. Topics of discussion ranged from sustainability, innovative technology, fan engagement and new event models to governance, esports and athlete well-being.

JSC used this international convention to set up a booth, meeting with relevant parties, collecting information on the latest key trends in international sport, discussing and coordinating with the participants on future information dissemination/promotion and collaboration opportunities, and building and strengthening its international network.
