Japan Sport Council and Brazil Olympic Committee sign a Memorandum of Understanding

On Monday 26 August, the Japan Sport Council (JSC) and Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the collaborative relationship to enhance elite sports in two countries. On the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefit, this bilateral agreement provides excellent opportunities for athletes, coaches, sports, and experts in several fields including sports science and medicine.

The Vice-President of JSC, Yoshinari Takatani, said “COB and JSC have developed great relationship over times. JSC trust that there are many to learn from them, as COB has lead a number of important initiatives for Brazilian high performance sports innovation by taking the opportunity to host the Rio de Janeiro 2016. Today, I am delighted to sign the MoU with COB, and expect that this formality of relationship will bring excellent opportunity and mutual benefit for both countries to grow in high performance sports.”

The Chief Sports Executive Officer of COB, Marcus Vinicius Freire, said “This is a very important cooperation agreement that the Brazilian Olympic Committee is celebrating, focused on the development of Brazilian Olympic Sport. In exchange for a support in the Japan Sport Council operation for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, we are going to promote exchanges in the fields of sport science, technology, training center knowledge. ”
